Bite Sized Louvre Tour

This afternoon we took a 1-hour guided tour of the Louvre.

We started with Nike of Samothrace.

Moved on to the French Neo-Classics of David,

Progressed to the Romantic paintings of Delacroix,

Snuck a peak at Leonardo's Mona Lisa,

And wrapped with a conversation about Ingres's anatomically impossible female nudes.

The Louvre, I have discovered, is best in small doses.

  1. I LOVE the Nike sculpture,it's one of my favorites. And amen to small museum dosages. When I lived in Madrid, we'd do a 2 hour tour of the Prado every two weeks. Got to take some time to really see what needed to be seen, and not try to cram it all in a day.

  2. Gorgeous pictures, sir. And yes, Lourve doses must be small. It was one of our favorite days in Paris, and I think we only stayed a half an hour ... turbo gorgeous.
